*Sandman’s Magic – he is the flagship stallion at our Curly Standard Place and he is where our Curly breeding dreams all began.
Sire: *Juper’s Magic Carpet
Dam: *Sacajawea
We acquired *Sandman as a long yearling in 2002 and he has been our main breeding stallion and ambassador since then. He has been under saddle since he was three and he has been actively show-cased, shown and promoted.
*Sandman is fully registered with the ABC, ICHO and CSI. He is an excellent Sporthorse, Hypoallergenic Curly Stallion and he is considered is homozygous for curls having only sired Curly coated foals and he has close to 50 offspring now, from all types of mares, Curly and non curly.
*Sandman is a gorgeous, unique sooty dun and often puts interesting colour on his babies, along with lots of curls! He has sired blacks, bays, copper duns, sooty duns and grulla. He seems to be homozygous for the black gene (has not been tested) as he has never sired a red based foal even when bred to red based mares.
*Sandman has had a successful riding and show career with many wins in dressage. We continue to be very impressed with the great attitude and work ethic of this exceptional stallion.
We have competed him in a LD endurance ride a few years ago, which shows his versatility to do many different things – this is true of his offspring as well.
We have attended a reining clinics with Ian Tipton as well and that was a great experience for *Sandman!
He has been ridden him in the Spirit of Life Ride, Ride for a Cure for Cancer and attended many breed demos, as well as numerous dressage shows and percentage days. We will continue to showcase him at breed demos, equine affairs and other local rides to show his versatility, gentle nature and superb athletic ability – he is a GREAT ambassador for this wonderful breed.
Live cover and cooled, shipped semen available, he is available through-out North America and also in Europe and Australia via frozen semen. Breeding fee is $800.00 for live cover and shipped semen (collection and shipping charges apply). Frozen semen is available by private treaty.
